Caring for Bamboo Quilts

The bamboo quilt is also known as duvets or in Australia known commonly as "Doonas" have a lot to offer for those with allergies. With its natural antibacterial properties and antimicrobial properties, it is an excellent choice for those who suffer from allergies.

Bamboo Quilts are an eco-friendly bedding option that is both comfortable and durable all year round. However, this doesn't mean you can neglect their care! This article will teach you everything you need to know about washing bamboo quilts, storing them, and how to take care of them over the years.

Washing your Bamboo Quilt

Once your quilt is excessively dirty or every two to three months, it's time to wash it. Don't use a softener or any fabric softener because this will clog up the bamboo fibres. Use a mild detergent and cool water on a gentle cycle. Hang dry it in a shady spot away from direct sunlight or strong breezes.

The quilt should be washed in the same manner as a regular, cotton quilt. The bamboo fabric does not need to be washed with bleach or any harsh chemicals solutions and this could cause damage to the fabric. A cold water wash and mild detergent is all that's needed.
